This policy explains what happens to deposits and tuition if a family withdraws a student from one of The Shakespeare Project’s year-round classes. It also explains withdrawal for The Junior Shakespeare Project, which has its own terms below.
Before classes begin
If you withdraw your student before the first day of class, we will refund your deposit and any tuition you have paid.
After classes begin
If you withdraw your student after classes have started, the deposit is not refunded. We ask for at least 30 days’ written notice. Because tuition is paid monthly, tuition for the month in which you give notice and for the following month is non-refundable and remains due. Future payments after that are waived. If you have paid your tuition in full, we will prorate your refund: we keep tuition for the month in which you give notice and the following month, and we refund the rest.
If your spot is filled
If another student takes your spot, we will refund tuition in full for every month you will not be attending, starting when the new student begins.
Classes and make-up classes
Each program includes a guaranteed number of classes per year, as described on its page. If a class is canceled by the teacher or because of a problem with the venue, we make it up whenever possible. We do not make up classes that are canceled because of inclement weather.
The Junior Shakespeare Project
The Junior Shakespeare Project is paid in full when you register, with no deposit. If you withdraw at least 7 days before the program starts, we will refund the program fee. If you withdraw less than 7 days before the start, or after the program has started, the program fee is not refunded.
How to withdraw
Please send written notice through the contact page. Your notice date is the day we receive it.
How refunds are paid
Refunds are returned to the original payment method.
